good luck

my friend chris wants to be an actor...good luck, sister!

Fearlessness

she is because she has to be.

after spending 22 days in the hospital earlier this year for a non-cancerous tumor doctors found just below her stomach, Alysia is fearless because she has to be. she has a gene that causes colon cancer and has to be checked regularly. she now has the word fearlessness etched into the back of her neck...this seems only right.

did i mention that she hates having her photo taken.

fearless...for life

went with my friend and editor, Al, to watch her get a tattoo on saturday in east atlanta. the tattoo says "fearlessness" in sanskrit. she said it hurt a lot worse than the one she GOT LAST WEEK..she is cut off for a little while...and she know it.

grumps

I love this woman to the right. she was so grumpy but really deep down so sweet. there was a local nursing home that had a spa day today for it residents. i just loved this moment it made me think of little kids.

the woman on the right was a little grumpy too...but i loved it. when i asked her if she was excited about her spa treatment she replied, "it's not like i have anything better to do!" i actually laughed out loud.

life on the pier

just walking around after a little bite to eat and put together a little something from lack of knowing how to act anymore without a camera.
the boy on the bottom right cracks my up, he looked miserable and when i took this photo the song "California Girls" was playing in his store...if you can call it that, it was really a stand on the pier.

the best feeling in the world

really. it must be.

daytona beach ya'll

as soon as i got here...it started to rain...clearly.

but i documented it, so no worries. i also went across the street and bought a pair of jean shorts and might shave my head tonight in honor of brit brit.

but really, i love the beach and the ocean makes me happy...went swimming for the rest of the day after it cleared up, however, there are not photos of this because sometimes life is what happening when you are not taking photos.

Tamika's camo thong?

Yes, it is and we are at the redneck games. I made her buy it and I think it is hillarious! Thanks to Sol for this photo...so glad you captured this moment.

Innovative Candy Concepts

Did a story about ICC today and their new spray gourmet desserts and took photos of their CEO or Liza Minnelli's ex...I just liked how happy the CEO was and the person at the assembly line seems not so happy.

ps. I did not and will never try the spray desserts...just saying

And then I got home...

to this wonderful creature...this is my blog and I will post what I want!

Joe Clover

This is Joe Clover. I am doing a story about an 81-year old woman whose house is being renovated after it lapsed into pretty much disrepair after the passing of her husband last year. Joe is a character who comes around and tries to get Dorthea, the woman, to give him money for "watching the house". He also has put her address on his id and the reporter and I are pretty sure he thinks he is going to be living there too once the house is done.

Interesting character who lives in his own world. He seemed to like his photo being taken but I was scared he was going to try and charge me for his image.

Redneck Games

Inspired by one of my best friends, Tamika, I turned my half-ass shoot at the Redneck Games this weekend in Dublin, Ga into a group of random Polaroids. Tamika actually brought a Polaroid camera and worked it while I just walked around sweating violently and think I was going to die from the heat.

This is really just a homage to T...had so much fun this weekend, thanks for getting me out of the house.

Tick Infestation

After going to central Georgia to do a story about pine beetle infestation, I was infested with ticks. I got back to the office and found about 10 ticks on my body. With the help of one of my favorite editor, Al, who I am now uncomfortable close with after having to disrobe in the company bathroom, I made it home without lime disease, I hope. However, I had to wear a strange floral dress from our studio and no shoes...every time I would walk somewhere within the photo department, I would turn around and Al would be cracking up. Laugh it up, sister! Thank you and she even drove me to my car so I wouldn't have to walk out there sans shoes. Ticks...bad
